Nihao (Hello) everyone! 👋 I'm Xiaoqian Laoshi (Rowena) from Ottawa, Canada! I'm a professional Chinese teacher with over 15+ years of experience teaching everyone from complete beginners to advanced Mandarin speakers.

My teaching style emphasizes personalized learning, and tailoring my materials to the interests of each student. I adopt innovative teaching methods rather traditional memorization, drills and rote learning. "Snowball Chinese" means learning Chinese is as enjoyable, efficient and effective as making a snowball - you have fun rolling a snowball which becomes bigger and bigger effortlessly within a short time.

In addition to teaching in my own school "Snowball Chinese" to students of all ages, background and levels, I am also teaching Chinese at Global Affairs of Canada to diplomats and credit courses at Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB).
